Players who like pixel art and Zelda-like adventures, and anyone interested in Mongolian history.
anda is a 16-bit top-down action RPG about young Temüjin, the boy who became Chinggis Khan. It opens in the spring of 1171, after Yesügei is poisoned at a Tatar feast. You fight through nine dungeons drawn from the Secret History of the Mongols and nine bosses, from Begter at the riverbank to Tayang Khan. Five companions each bring an ability: Bo'orchu, Qasar, Jelme, Jebe and Subutai. There's riding, night raids and fourteen illustrated cutscenes; your camp grows as clans join you, and a nine-tailed banner shows your progress. The game saves automatically and takes about an hour to finish. It's made with Godot, plays in the browser or on Windows, macOS and Linux, and is free. The game is in English.
