Launchpad.mn
Privacy policy
What Launchpad.mn collects, why, who can see it and how to delete it. In short: we collect only what the site needs to work, we never sell it, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.

1.Who runs Launchpad.mn
Launchpad.mn is run by Unread. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Unread. You can reach us about anything in it at hello@launchpad.mn.
2.What we collect
- Your Google account basics. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We never see your Google password.
- What you post. Products you submit (their texts, links and images), comments and replies, product updates, and the profile details you add, such as a bio, location or website.
- What you do on the site. Your votes, saved products, followed categories and notify-me requests.
- Requests to makers. When you ask for beta access or answer a maker’s ask, we keep the email address and message you type and send them to that product’s makers.
- The newsletter. If you subscribe to Launchpad Weekly: your email address, your language, and when you subscribed or unsubscribed.
- Abuse prevention. To limit spam and fake votes, we store salted hashes of IP addresses, never the addresses themselves, and we keep a log of moderation actions.
- Cookies. One session cookie keeps you signed in, and a few short-lived cookies protect a Google sign-in while it happens. Your browser remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. There are no ads, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers.
3.Why we use it
- To run your account and show your public profile and what you contribute.
- To count votes fairly (one account, one vote) and keep spam, fake votes and abuse off the site.
- To send the emails you asked for or that your activity needs: launch-day notifications, news about your submissions, visitors’ requests to makers, and Launchpad Weekly if you subscribed.
- To moderate the site, and to answer you when you write to us.
- We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
4.Who sees what
- Everyone: your name, username, profile photo, bio, location and website, the products you made or hunted, and your comments. Vote, save and follower counts are public, but not who voted for or saved what.
- A product’s makers: the email address and message you send them in a request.
- Nobody else: your email address, votes, saved products, followed categories, notify-me requests and newsletter subscription stay private.
- Unread’s editors and admins: the account and submission details they need to review launches and moderate, and nothing beyond that work.
5.Services we use
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts the site, stores the database and uploaded images, and sends our emails, all in its Asia Pacific (Singapore) region. AWS processes this data only to provide these services to us.
- Google handles sign-in. Google learns that you signed in to Launchpad.mn, under Google’s own privacy policy.
- We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
6.How long we keep it
- Your account stays until you delete it, which you can do at any time in your account settings. We then remove your name, email address, photo and profile details, sign you out everywhere and delete your requests to makers. Launches still in review are withdrawn. Your comments stay in their threads as “Deleted user” and your votes stay counted without your name, so discussions and rankings remain intact.
- Sessions end when you sign out, or within 30 days of your last visit.
- Rate-limit records delete themselves within a few days.
- The newsletter: until you unsubscribe with the link in our emails. We then keep the address marked as unsubscribed so we never email it again by mistake. Ask us if you want it erased.
- Moderation logs are kept for as long as they’re needed to keep the site safe.
7.Your choices
- You can see and correct your profile on the site at any time.
- To get a copy of your data, or to have something corrected or deleted, write to hello@launchpad.mn. We answer within 30 days.
- You can stop any email: leave Launchpad Weekly with the link in it, and cancel a notify-me request on the product page.
8.Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we’ll also tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect.
