Solar GPS collars that keep watch over your herd
Herders can lose dozens of animals in a single storm, and checking a scattered herd across the steppe takes hours on horseback.
Herder families, soum veterinarians and livestock cooperatives.
Malchin pairs rugged, solar-charged collars with an offline-first app. Herders see every animal on a map, get alerts when a herd wanders past the pasture line, and receive drought and dzud warnings for their soum.

Pinned · Maker's introduction
I grew up herding in Övörkhangai. Every winter my father rode out at dawn to count the herd. Malchin is the tool I wish he'd had: a collar that lasts the whole winter on solar, and an app that works without signal. We're piloting with 30 families now and want to reach 300 by spring.
Would love a way to export my data.
Noted! Shipping a fix this week.
Small thing: the signup form didn't accept my +976 number at first.
What network do the collars use in places with no mobile signal at all?
LoRa to a small solar gateway at the ger, which syncs over satellite once a day. No mobile signal needed.
The map is beautiful. Would be great to see pasture quality layered on top.
Coming in the spring update, using satellite vegetation data.
Hunted this because it's the most Mongolian product I've seen in a while. Go Malchin!
Tried it during lunch. Already hooked.
